With a background in kitchens and a deep understanding of plant and soil systems, every crop is grown with purpose. Light, airflow, humidity, and watering are all managed closely to create stable conditions where each variety can develop proper structure, flavor, and shelf life.
This is not a one-size-fits-all grow. Each crop is placed, handled, and harvested based on what it needs to perform at its best.
Soil remains a key part of the system. We treat it as a living component supporting stronger plants, better flavor, and longer-lasting greens—while staying connected to natural cycles through composting and community reuse.
Built for efficiency and consistency, the farm operates year-round with a focus on supplying kitchens and customers who expect a higher level of quality from their ingredients.
Roots & Shoots Microgreen Farm was founded by Brianne Oliveira, a chef and master gardener with a deep respect for food, the earth, and the systems that connect them.
Her background in professional kitchens shaped the way she approaches growing. Working in fine dining, she saw firsthand the importance of quality, consistency, and precision but also the disconnect between what was served and where ingredients came from.
That awareness led her out of the kitchen and into growing.
At the Coral Springs Community Garden, she began working directly with plants, learning through hands-on experience how soil, climate, and environment shape the flavor, structure, and nutritional value of food. What started as growing her own food quickly turned into a deeper understanding of plant systems, medicinal herbs, and the role of biodiversity in human and environmental health.
That knowledge became the foundation of Roots & Shoots.
By combining plant science with controlled indoor growing, Brianne built a system designed to produce consistent, high-quality greens year-round, grown to order, and closely managed at every stage.
To her, microgreens are not just garnishes; They are living ingredients. Grown with intention, capable of adding real value to a dish while reconnecting people to fresh, local food.
